The idea was conceived by François Terlinden and developed by Christophe Terlinden.
We are temporary passengers on a planet whose peoples have at a late stage become aware of the fact that it has limits and is fragile.

The present initiative is motivated by the fact that it is the unavoidable duty of all citizens of the world to act in the face of appalling situations, whether we like it or not.

This simple human necessity to see things globally, not bothering at this stage with points of detail, gives rise to a totally independent frame of mind. It is absolutely devoid of any material interest and is unbiased, politically or otherwise.

We believe that problems of this scale can be resolved through immediate action in the framework of a vast long-term project. This action will bring about all kinds of comments that we shall bring together in order to make our contribution to peace.

The "Prize for young Belgian painting” seems to me to be a good starting point to launch a debate, in Belgium and in the world, on the idea of constructive peace for Israel and Palestine.

This proposal, which is the result of teamwork, should be developed with the help of different people from different backgrounds, of different ages and with different types of knowledge.

Wars are no solution for conflicts..
